Eildon Ramblers group

The Borders offer a varied landscape, rugged hills and moorland, lonely valleys and lochs, rich farmland, delightful woodlands and peaceful riversides. We offer favourite walks which our members love, but our leaders are always looking for new routes, new vistas and new points of interest.

Come with us and enjoy the wildlife of the Borders, seal pups on the Berwickshire coast, red squirrels in remote woodlands, herons and oystercatchers on the rivers, and fleeting glimpses of deer, hares and, if we're lucky, an eagle.

Learn about the history of our ancient landscape from prehistoric stone circles and hillforts through Roman camps and roads, and ancient castles and churches, to the traces of older, rural industries, abandoned railways and our living, former textile towns.

In addition to our weekly walks, our members enjoy an away weekend every year, with a range of walks across three days. This year's away weekend is in late August at Arrochar in Argyll.
